I know it’s not good for Florida and so I’m going to make sure we’re not giving someone else the power to figure out our destiny. I’m focused on our rights as an individual state. I don’t believe the federal government should be telling us what to do and clearly the UN should not be dictating how we build our state (emphasis added).

This lunatic is a secessionist. When you think about it, that is what all these state Teabaggers are about: Divorcing their states from the Federal idea. Of course, they will all be happy to take all the MBF’s money from Washington to balance their rubbish state budgets (but no money for women’s health, please!).

It is like giving a blind, deaf-mute the keys to the bus because he is better dressed than the real driver and promises free movies en route.

Seems like with each day Scott gets closer to the recall monster.

Seems like with each day Scott gets closer to the recall monster.

Unfortunately Florida does not have a recall option in the State Constitution. We’re stuck with him for the duration.

Hopefully Floridians learn from this, but I doubt it

Agenda 21? A U.N. Takeover of property rights? This is a little absurd, don’t you think? Rick Scott and the Florida GOP will have fucked up Florida with his own fascist laws, be long gone and on the road to the Whitehouse (Florida radio stations were talking about his presidential bid this morning) long before anyone will ever speak of Agenda 21. He doesn’t need the U.N. to do the damage he’s doing.

For those of you who don’t know what Agenda 21 is, it is an environmental initiative put forward in the early 1990s by the United Nations.

un.org

Agenda 21 is a comprehensive plan of action to be taken globally, nationally and locally by organizations of the United Nations System, Governments, and Major Groups in every area in which human impacts on the environment.

Agenda 21, the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development, and the Statement of principles for the Sustainable Management of Forests were adopted by more than 178 Governments at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) held in Rio de Janerio, Brazil, 3 to 14 June 1992.

And if you read through the document, (it’s pretty big one), there’s a phrase that comes up a whole lot.

“Non-legally-binding”.

Which means that it cannot be enforced via force of law. It is strictly a framework on recommendations on how to best implement environmental and conservational initiatives, while also addressing the need for economic/industrial development.

The bigger question is who is going to save us/them from hyenas like Rick Scott and company.
